Montserrat, Barcelona

Montserrat was about a hours drive away from the centre of Barcelona. Well worth the visit. It was high up in the mountains and we were treated to strong sunshine and then mist. The views were spectacular and you could take the funicular to the top of the mountain. A funicular is basically a train that climbs vertically. Time alas was not on our side but if you hired a car you could spend the whole day in Mountserrat.
